Our team of students strives to spotlight diverse cultures with our creations. We are devoted to using our wide range of skills to serve non-native, independent businesses and to amplify their unique traits.

Founder & CEO

Growing up in the Bay Area with Asian immigrant parents, Jami has been raised with a multi-cultural background around a culturally rich diaspora of independent, ethnic establishments. Witnessing the cultural and language barriers that appear within these businesses, she started Taste of Bay in hopes of minimizing the discrepancy of exposure cultural establishments often face. She is eager to grow a community within Taste of Bay of like-minded individuals willing to equip creative skills to serve the multicultural community.

Benjamin Zhang

From his time as a kid in China to immigrating to the US as the "new kid" Ben's desire to immerse himself in various cultures is something he carries as he serves ethnic restaurants through Taste of Bay.

Isabelle Kok

Coming from a Singaporean and Indian background, Isabelle has been inspired by various cultures in her lifetime. She hopes to use her writing to support different communities and illustrate various cultures.

Stella Petzova
Writer & Graphic Designer

Having immigrated to the US from Bulgaria at a young age, Stella seeks out ways to help the immigrant community adjust and feel seen. She hopes to be able to see her interests come to life at Taste of Bay.

Graphic Designer

As a 2nd-gen Asian American, Jillian is passionate about supporting immigrant entrepreneurs and preserving cultural stories. Through Taste of Bay, they hope to empower restaurant owners through digital media design and content creation.

Sophia D'Sa
Writer

Early on in life, Sophia was inspired to step out of her comfort zone and learn Mandarin, eventually becoming fluent. She has always been interested in immersing herself in different cultural backgrounds & is passionate about actively bridging cultures.

Subin Ko

Design & Outreach

Having recently immigrated to the U.S. from Korea, Subin is navigating a new environment while embracing the opportunity to learn and connect with others through culture. He's excited to bring a fresh perspective to Taste of Bay and help share the stories of local restaurants.

Outreach

With her American and Malaysian background, Kathryn has always been fascinated by the blending of cultures. She enjoys celebrating those connections through creative work and loves contributing to Taste of Bay’s mission to support local restaurants.

Alyssa Yang
Writer & Designer

Growing up as a second-generation Chinese Asian American, Alyssa developed a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and community. Through her work at Taste of Bay, she hopes to help immigrant-owned restaurants thrive by sharing their stories with others.

Katrina Lin

Photographer

Coming from a second-gen Taiwanese American household, Katrina values celebrating heritage and learning about new cultures. She’s excited to use her creativity with photography to highlight their unique journeys and cultures within local restaurants.
